Hyacinthacae/Liliaceae. Quamash Genus of 5 or 6 species of summer flowering bulbs from damp, fertile meadowland in North America. Good for borders, pond margins or naturalising in the wild meadow, garden or orchard. Clump forming. Large, ovoid to spherical bulbs give rise to star shaped blue flowers May onwards - good as cut flower. Bulbs of C. quamash were once an important food source for native Americans. Quamash has pale wisteria blue flowers, golden anthers. May onwards. A lovely variety. Eventual Ht 60cm/2'. Plants sold in 9cm pots ONE BULB PER POT. PLEASE NOTE THESE PLANT GO DORMANT SUMMER TO SPRING - THERE IS NO TOP GROWTH, JUST CORMS BELOW SOIL SURFACE.
