| (Ranunculaceae) Genus of about 70 species of graceful clump forming perennials from meadows, open woodland and mountainous areas in the N. hemisphere. Bell shaped, spurred flowers spring and summer. Good for rock gardens too. Cut plants down flush to ground after flowering in May to promote young foliage. Budding leaves appear mid-February. Good beneath trees and rockeries. Well drained, fertile, moist best but will grow anywhere.
