(Asteraceae/Compositae) Chrysanthemum. Genus of 23 species of procumbent or spreading to erect, evergreen sub-shrubs from the Canary Islands and Madeira. They occur in a wide range of habitats from coastal beaches to light woodland and volcanic mountains 3-9000' high. Will tolerate sea winds. Mulch in winter. Plants will regenerate from base in spring even if frosted.
