Arisaemia
| (Araceae) Genus of about 150 species of spring or summer flowering rhizomatous or tuberous perennials from moist woodland and rocky wasteland. The species in cultivation are mostly from the Himalayas, China, Japan and North America. Grown for their large, curious hooded spathes enclosing pencil-shaped spadix. Fleshy red fruits in autumn.

Arisaema ciliatum var liubaense
| Narrow leaflets that radiate out from a central axis, like the underside of an umbrella, with beautifully green, arching, spreading spokes. The spathe hood is typically purple-brown to maroon with vanilla-cream striping. The greenish spadix is washed in purple. Shade to light shade. Ht 2'/60cm. Sold in 9cm pots.
