| (Iridaceae). Genus of 6 or more species of winter and spring perennial flowering corms. Found in sandy, lowland soils to rocky upland slopes in South Africa. Large, fragrant, funnel-shaped flowers good for cutting. Narrowly sword-shaped to linear-lance shaped leaves. Beautifully scented double flowers, which will be in bloom from mid March if kept in a cool greenhouse. Dry off corms after flowering. Sunny site and well drained soil if planted out. Ht 30cm/1'. Sold in 9cm pots (3 corms per pot)
