Five Helenium of OUR choice for £20	(Asteraceae/Compositae). Sneezeweed, Helen's Flower. Genus of about 40 species of late summer and autumn flowering perennials. Found in damp, swampy meadows or woodland margins in N. and C. America. They are clump forming with sturdy, branching stems and ovate leaves. The sprays of daisy-like flower heads each have a prominent central disc or boss (not a cone) which is yellow or brown surrounded by ray florets of petals. Heleniums flower over a long period and are good for herbaceous borders. Flowers are also good for cutting and loved by bees. Dead head to prolong flowering. Divide every 2-3 years. Flowering July to Sept. Sun, moist, fertile soil. Vary in height from 90-120cm/3'-4' Price: £20.00
