Rhodohypoxis
(Hypoxidaceae). Genus of 6 species of small clump forming, spring to summer flowering, tuberous herbaceous perennials, grown for their pink, red or white flowers. Corm like rootstocks from open meadows in areas with heavy summer rainfall in the eastern provinces of South Africa and Swaziland. Each comprises six petals that meet at the centre so the flower has no eye and are produce over long periods in summer. Erect, basal, tuft of narrowly lance shaped hairy leaves. Protect from winter wet. Good for troughs, raised beds or rock gardens

Rhodohypoxis 'Kiwi Joy'
Erect, basal, tuft of narrowly lance shaped hairy leaves. Bears a succession of erect, true double with dark red flowers that fade to pink as the season progresses singly on slender stems in spring and early summer. Requires full sun and well drained soil. Protect from winter wet. Ht 5-10cm/6". Plants sold in 9cm pots
