NEC 2001
| Chatting to Charlie Dimmock on our first visit to the NEC for Gardeners' World Live
HARROGATE 2002
| First showing of our lewisia collection at Harrogate April 2002; Silver medal awarded. The only show we had done before this was Gardeners World Live in 2001 with a pyramid of lupins which collapsed in the middle, causing quite a stir! However we have improved now...
MALVERN 2002
| One little lupin was all we had for this diplay - our first year at Malvern. Alan Titchmarsh was very encouraging though. Things can only get better...the following year we had a flat tyre on the lorry on the way. Maybe not.
HATFIELD HOUSE 2002
| Managed a full compliment of lupins for this show. First Gold medal and Best in Show award. Must be beginners luck
HAMPTON COURT 2002
| After late June most of the lupins are all over so we take a stand outside and do a mixed herbaceous display.
TATTON COURT 2002
| One of our best shows to date. Lots of interest in our lupins even though only a few left now.
CHELSEA 2003
| Our first Chelsea. Looking back I can't believe we decided to show the lupins as cut flowers. Risky as we had no idea how they would last. However, apart from a slight bending over, they performed well and looked splendid. Silver Gilt awarded.
HAMPTON COURT 2003
| More of a rustic look to our display this year with a stile across the display and lots of herbaceous plants either side.
CHELSEA 2004
| Decided to play it safe this year and do the traditional lupin display in pots, tiered in blocks of colour for maximum impact. Silver Gilt awarded.
GARDENERS' WORLD LIVE 2004
| A big colour picture in the Telegraph was an extra bonus this year giving the lupins maximum exposure. Silver Gilt awarded.. again..
HAMPTON COURT and TATTON PARK 2004
| A very windy Hampton Court to the extent that on Wednesday the show was closed early in the afternoon for the day. Good weather for Tatton though.
MALVERN 2005 (outside stand)
| Lupins are splendid this year and we did a display of them in pots to show their versatility. Top marks for this display.
MALVERN 2005 (Floral marquee)
| Conditions this year have been perfect for the lupins and our display reflected this. Silver gilt award.
CHELSEA 2005
| Our best display yet, lupins are outstanding. Silver Gilt yet again though (too much red apparently..hmm)
GARDENERS' WORLD LIVE 2005
| Even the late lupins did well this year and guess what... Silver Gilt.argg
HAMPTON COURT AND TATTON PARK 2005
| A change of display this year - plants used as focal points in pots on decking. The dieramas looked particularly effective.
BATH SPRING FLOWER SHOW 2006
| Our first year at Bath. The stand for our auriculas and lewisias was still in the making the evening we left for the show!
MALVERN 2006 (outside stand)
| Lupins were late starting this year so we did a display of lewisias in troughs on decking which looked great.
MALVERN 2006 (Floral marquee)
| We used some species lupins in this display which was welcomed and plenty of lupins. Silver Gilt award.
CHELSEA 2006
| We did the usual display with the usual consequences - you guessed it. Silver Gilt
HOLKER HALL 2006
| Hallelujah - Gold at last for a fine display of lupins.
GARDENERS' WORLD LIVE 2006
| Exhibits in both the floral marquee and plant mall this year. Tyre fell off the caravan on the way up!!
HAMPTON COURT 2006
| A muted show this week with bombs going off in London.
BATH SPRING FLOWER SHOW 2007
| Our Auricula theatre at Bath won Silver Gilt this year. Apparently they are cutting back on the Golds issued......
MALVERN SPRING FLOWER SHOW 2007
| A very wet Malvern, particularly the last day when we had to breakdown of course. Silver award this year, despite a distinct lack of lupins and husband informing me on arrival that there wasn't room in the lorry for the path/stream (which was fundamental to the design) so he left it behind. Men..........
CHELSEA 2007
| Despite a lack of lupins due to losses this winter and using only a few Iris for extra colour, a silver awarded.
GARDENERS' WORLD LIVE 2007
| Full quota of lupins and silver awarded. Another burst tyre on the caravan on the way to the show again.
HAMPTON COURT 2007
| Lots of tubs planted up for the show giving a vibrant display. Very wet start, bogged down with mud but things improved as the week progressed.
TATTON PARK 2007
| Glastonbury in disguise - one of the wettest, muddiest shows to date. Trucks being pulled out all over the showground before, during and after....
GOLD IN 2008
| We exhibited at all the RHS shows again this year and succeeded in winning our first RHS gold at Gardeners' World Live at the NEC. It has taken 6 years to achieve this goal so we are now happy!
