Tiarella 'Iron Butterfly'	(Saxifragaceae). Foamflower. Genus of about 7 species of rhizomatous, clump forming herbaceous perennials, some evergreen. From woodland and streambanks in E. Asia and N. America. The mainly basal, ovate to heart-shaped or rounded, toothed leaves are simple or palmate. Often turn shades of reddish copper in autumn and winter. Foliage deeply cut and very attractively marked veins. Good for shade or semi shade and will tolerate deep shade. Good ground cover. Good in containers as well as borders. Masses of tiny pinky-white star shaped flowers late April, borne in terminal panicles or racemes over a long period. Will tolerate a wide range of soil conditions.
