syn. Peltiphyllum peltatum. (Saxifragaceae) Umbrella plant. Genus of one species of rhizomatous perennial, grown for its large bold, peltate, veined foliage which turns red in the autumn. Star-shaped pink flowers before foliage appears in spring. Stems are thick pink and fleshy with soft bristles. One of best of all hardy waterside plants from mountain streamsides in USA. Eventual Ht 1m/3'. Sold in 9cm pots
