Fritillarias like a humus rich, cool, moist soil and bloom throughout May. Known commonly as the Snake's Head Lily. Ideal for front of border or rockery. F Meleagris and F. pyrenaica are good for naturalising in orchards or areas not cut before the beginning of July. Plant 6" deep until end of September. Later flowering chequered brown and green flowers. Will grow in most places. Eventual Ht 40cm/18". Plants sold in 9cm pots
