Climber. A late-Winter flowering gem: open-growing shrub who's buds break in January/February to unleash sweetly scented, creamy-white flowers on bare stems. Sold in 9cm pots.

Genus of about 180 species of deciduous, semi-evergreen or evergreen shrubs and woody stemmed twining climbers widely distributed in the N. hemisphere where they grown in varied habitats ranging from woodland and thickets to rocky places. Fragrant flowers, tubular with spreading 2-lipped petal lobes followed by small spherical fruits (non edible). Leaves are borne in opposite pairs. Prune out flowered wood after flowering. Good for training on walls, fences and pergolas. Humus rich, moist soil, sun or part shade.
