(Convallariaceae/Liliaceae). Large merrybells. Genus of 5 species of rhizomatous, spring flowering, clump forming perennials. Pendent, tubular-bell shaped, 6-tepalled yellow flowers are produced on long, slender stalks, usually solitary and terminal above stem-clasping, narrowly oval, mid green leaves. Upright stems with lanceolate leaves reminiscent of bamboos. Excellent for a peat bed, shady border or woodland garden. Flowers April to June. Eventual Ht 55cm/2'. Plants sold in 9cm pots
