Alstromeria psittacina 'variegata'



(Alstroemeriaceae). syn 'Royal Star'. Genus of about 50 species from open mountain screes and grassland in South America. Native of Mexico and Northern Brazil. The fleshy, sometimes rhizome-like tubers spread to form clumps up to 60cm/2' across. Ideal for a mixed herbaceous border.
Emerald green leaf stems edged in crisp white, followed by red, green and white splashed flowers. Hardy. Sunny site, well drained soil. Unusual and sought after. Eventual Ht 60cm/2'. Plants sold in 9cm pots
