(Saururaceae). Genus of one species of deciduous perennial marginal water plant with far-spreading rhizomes. Found in damp, shady sites in woodland, scrub and marshy habitats in E. Asia. Good for groundcover, grown for its foliage of multi coloured leaves smelling of oranges when bruised. Insignificant flowers with oval white bracts. Will grow in water or beside ponds. Moist, moderately fertile, humus rich soi, sun or semi shade. Eventual Ht 30cm/1'. Plants sold in 9cm pots.
