Tropaeolum

(Tropaeolaceae). Nasturtium, Flame Creeper. Genus of 80-90 species of hairless, climbing, trailing or bushy deciduous herbaceous perennials grown for their brightly coloured flowers. Many have tuberous roots. The alternate, rounded, peltate leaves are entire or palmately lobed. Roughly funnel-shaped flowers with 5 showy, clawed petals often with prominent spurs and 5 inconspicuous, pointed sepals are borne singly from the leaf axils. Some have blue grey leaves with golden yellow ochre flowers, others have rich red flowers followed by blue fruit. Grow climbing tropaeolums over a fence, trellis, pergola or non flowering shrub. Humus rich neutral to acid soil best with roots in shade.

PLEASE NOTE THESE PLANTS DIE BACK TO TUBERS AND ARE DORMANT UNTIL THE SPRING SO PLEASE DO NOT ORDER IF YOU ARE NOT HAPPY WITH THIS
